We strongly recommend using active travel or public transport to get to Manchester Royal Infirmary, which is part of our Oxford Road Campus. Our hospital is in a dense urban location where roads are busy, and parking is often oversubscribed. Our Oxford Road Campus is well served by many bus routes and other community and sustainable transport options.
For information about public transport services, please contact Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) on 0161 244 1000. Their lines are open between 7.00 am and 8.00 pm on Monday to Friday, and from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on weekends and bank holidays. You can also visit the TfGM website.
You can plan your journey by any mode of transport using the TfGM journey planning tool.
Walk
Walking is an excellent, low-cost way to get some exercise into a busy schedule. Whether you’re walking the whole way, to a bus stop, Metrolink or train station, the steps add up.
Manchester Royal Infirmary is very well connected to the rest of the city. Walking at an average pace, it is about a 30-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, or 20 minutes from Manchester Oxford Road Station.
Plan your route on the TfGM journey planner.
Cycle

Alternatively, you could use the Manchester Bee Network bike hire scheme. There are docking stations for hire bikes conveniently located outside our campus on Oxford Road. For more information see the Transport for Greater Manchester website.
