Biography

Mr Sharma is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He is an experienced general ophthalmologist with extensive experience in adult cataract surgery. He has a special interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

His areas of specialism include cataract and strabismus surgery in children, screening and treating premature infants with Retinopathy of prematurity.

He graduated from the University of Rajasthan in 1994, undertaking postgraduate training in India and continuing higher specialist training in England under the North West deanery. He has completed fellowships in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from Sankara Nethralaya, a leading eye institute in South East Asia, and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

He is active in teaching medical students and optometry students and has presented in regional, national and international meetings.
