Biography

Professor Vaibhav Modgil is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at the Manchester Andrology Centre, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Manchester. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Trends in Urology & Men’s Health, Vice Chair of the BAUS Andrology Section, and Associate Surgical Specialty Lead for Andrology at BAUS and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

An internationally recognised leader in surgical andrology, he specialises in penile prosthesis surgery, Peyronie’s disease, and complex genital reconstruction. He and Prof. Ian Pearce are the highest-volume infrapubic penile implant surgeons in the UK and mentor surgeons globally in this technique.

Professor Modgil delivers the highest-volume NHS andrology service in North West England across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and the Northern Care Alliance. He leads the regional male infertility service at St Mary’s Hospital, introducing microsurgical techniques and developing a multi-site MDT. He also founded a regional joint urology–andrology and plastic surgery MDT for genital hidradenitis suppurativa.

His clinical practice includes erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, infertility, hypogonadism, ejaculatory disorders, and complex reconstruction, with a specialist interest in sexual dysfunction following prostate cancer treatment.

He is Director and Founder of the Manchester Andrology Research Collaborative (MARC) and has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications. He has contributed to international guidelines and serves on multiple national and global committees.

Awarded the BAUS Golden Telescope (2026), he is a high-impact clinician, educator, and researcher advancing modern andrology internationally.
