New pregnancy referral

Early access to maternity care is important to ensure that all the appropriate care options are discussed with you, including all antenatal screening options.  This is important for you and your baby’s health

You can do this by either:

Please e-mail  community.clerks@mft.nhs.uk and we will send you a form within 3 working days to complete and return back to us via email. If you would like further advice around this, please use the contact numbers as stated below for the community midwives.

Get in touch with your local midwife

You can also see your local midwife at your GP and they will send a referral for you.

Once the referral has been sent, you will be offered a booking appointment, usually within two weeks, with a midwife.

Your pregnancy care may be based with you community midwife, in the hospital antenatal clinics, or a mixture of both. This is dependent on where you live and whether you have any pre-existing medical conditions.

If you have any concerns prior to seeing your midwife on your first appointment such as bleeding or pain, please contact the Emergency Gynaecology Unit, Ward F16 at Wythenshawe Hospital, please call 0161 291 2561.
