Biography
Professor Morsi is a Consultant Gynaecologist and BSGE-accredited Endometriosis Specialist with extensive experience in excision of deep infiltrating endometriosis. He works within the Manchester BSGE Accredited Multidisciplinary Endometriosis team alongside colorectal, urology, fertility and pain specialists.
He graduated from Ain Shams University in 1992 and completed his PhD research in Germany in 1999. After completing advanced laparoscopy training at the James Cook University Hospital Endometriosis centre, he became an NHS Consultant in 2007. His experience in the management of deep endometriosis comes from 2 decades of dealing with complex endometriosis cases and attending fellowships in various high volume endometriosis centres in France, Austria, Germany, Iran, Italy and Switzerland. He led the endometriosis service at Russells Hall Hospital, achieving accreditation for the BSGE Dudley Endometriosis Centre in 2018 and another endometriosis centre in Egypt in 2023. He completed level 2 Neuropelveology training.
Professor Morsi regularly trains and teaches in retro-peritoneal anatomy courses, has successfully delivered various laparoscopic suturing courses and laparoscopic simulation training in the West Midlands Deanery. He also publishes regularly in international peer reviewed journals with his last publication in 2025 in the highly regarded Nature journal.
