AI and the digital future of healthcare

For our first virtual session, we will explore how digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) are helping to shape the future of healthcare.

Across the NHS and at MFT, new technologies are supporting clinicians, improving patient experiences and helping us deliver safer, more effective care. From AI-assisted cancer screening to digital tools that connect patients more closely with their care, technology is opening up new possibilities for healthcare.

During this session, you’ll hear about some of the exciting developments taking place across the Trust and how we are ensuring innovation is introduced safely and responsibly.

What you’ll learn about

We’ll explore what AI is, how it is being used within healthcare and how patient safety remains at the centre of every innovation. Examples include:

  • Supporting the detection of lung cancer through advanced imaging technology
  • Reducing administrative burden by helping clinicians capture notes and documentation
  • Enhancing patient communications, including discharge information and summaries

We’ll also look at wider developments in digital healthcare, including:

  • Wearable technology that helps patients monitor their health and stay connected to their care
  • MyMFT, our patient app, which is now used by more than 700,000 patients
  • How digital tools are helping us improve services and patient experiences

There will be an opportunity to put your questions directly to colleagues leading this work and learn more about how technology is helping to transform healthcare at MFT.
