Welcome to the Trafford General Hospital website: "The Birthplace of the NHS". The first NHS hospital, opened in 1948 by Aneurin Bevan.
Please note: Trafford General’s A&E department is now an Urgent Care Centre, providing treatment for adults and children who have a need for care that is not life-threatening.
The new Urgent Care Centre works much in the same way as the previous A&E department and can be visited for the treatment of a wide range of conditions from minor injuries and illnesses to suspected fractures and wounds.
The Urgent Care Centre is open daily from 8.00am – 8.00pm and is staffed by a highly skilled team of Accident and Emergency doctors and nurses.
It provides treatment for adults and children who have a need for care that is not life-threatening but where prompt help, care or advice is required.
