Biography

Mr Fitzgerald works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Trafford General Hospital and Altrincham General Hospital. His special interests are spinal surgery and upper limb surgery, especially hand surgery. He trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London in the spinal surgery unit, the scoliosis unit and the integrated back unit, as well as in the spinal deformities unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children. His training in hand surgery was carried out at several units including the peripheral nerve injury and congenital hand deformity units at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His research interests include lumbar spine disorders and tennis elbow.
