Biography

Mr Lau qualified from the University of London in 2006 and went on to pursue a head and neck cancer research fellowship in Liverpool. He was subsequently appointed to the northwest higher surgical training programme in ENT. Following completion of training, he undertook a nationally appointed interface fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and transoral robotic surgery in Newcastle upon Tyne.

His academic interests centre around head and neck cancer as well as clinical research in ENT. He has authored more than 30 academic papers and book chapters. He also served as an Associate Editor for the academic journal Clinical Otolaryngology from 2019 to 2023. He is a keen educator and founded the popular reference website and app ENTSHO.com, as well as health education charity ExcellENT and ENT4GP.com. He is active in the global health field and is one of the founding faculty members of the International Paediatric ENT and Anaesthesia Skills Course in Tanzania.
