Biography

Dr Fozia Ahmed graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 and undertook specialist training in cardiology in the North-West region.

Dr Fozia Ahmed was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Manchester University Hospitals in 2015, where she specialises in heart failure and cardiac devices. She is recognised as a global expert in her field and is frequently invited to present at international conferences.

She is passionate about improving the lives of people with heart failure. She is actively involved in clinical research, which aims to discover new treatments for those with heart failure as well as individuals with pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr Fozia Ahmed’s research interests include remote monitoring in heart failure, iron deficiency, obesity and inflammation in heart failure, and practice-based clinical trials that focus on re-designing clinical pathways to improve the lives of people with heart failure.
