Biography
Qualified in St Andrews 1986 and Manchester 1989, training posts in Manchester area including research at Wythenshawe Hospital. Appointed as a Consultant at Stepping Hill Hospital in 1999 and then at Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2001. Interested in COPD, occupational lung disease and service development. Programme Director then STSC/TPD chair for Respiratory medicine in the Northwest (2001-2008). Clinical Director in Acute and Rehabilitation 2008 till 2010 and then Clinical Head of Division from 2011 until successfully appointed as Medical Director for the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2018.
