Biography
Jonathan is a UK-trained ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeon with a background in head and neck surgery. He graduated from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford and completed his surgical training in London and Manchester. Jonathan is registered with the GMC and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
During a prestigious international fellowship in Adelaide, Australia, Jonathan focused on advanced rhinology training and the surgical treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. He served as a consultant at Warrington and Halton Hospitals Foundation Trust, where he became the governance lead for the division of surgery and anaesthesia, emphasising high-quality, safe healthcare.
Jonathan holds specialist status from the specialist advisory committee in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the General Medical Council, receiving his certificate of completion of training in October 2011. He advocates for conservative management and tailors treatment plans for each patient based on their unique circumstances.
Passionate about teaching, Jonathan is actively involved in the undergraduate medical student program at the University of Liverpool. He conducts research on obstructive sleep apnoea treatment outcomes and surgical simulation for training, including a virtual reality endoscopic sinus surgery simulator with Flinders University. With over 40 publications, including contributions to the Lancet and British Medical Journal, Jonathan is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge.
In addition to his clinical work, Jonathan enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, fencing, and badminton.
