Biography
A Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) since 2002, Professor Fenerty runs a specialist tertiary referral service for complex adult and paediatric glaucoma. She is clinical lead for anterior segment services at MREH and her research interests include clinical diagnostic and treatment methods for glaucoma in adults and children. Nationally, she has held a number of roles with NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), including membership Glaucoma Guideline Development Group, Glaucoma Quality Standards and Glaucoma Commissioning Group. She is a member of the NICE External Reference Group for Ophthalmology and also participated in the review of NICE Technology Appraisals Guidance. She is a Royal College of Ophthalmologists Expert Advisor to the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA), and is a member of the Clinical Reference Group for Commissioning of Ophthalmology. In 2011, Professor Fenerty Chaired the UK and Eire Glaucoma Society and is a founding member of the UK Paediatric Glaucoma Society.
