Podiatry (NMGH)

Who is the service for?

Patients can be referred into the service by their Hospital Consultant to be seen as an outpatient or on the ward whilst an inpatient.

The podiatry service provides quality hospital-based foot care to patients with or at risk of developing foot health problems often because of complications associated with chronic health conditions such as diabetes and vascular disease. We provide advanced specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management.  We are part of an integrated podiatry service located in the community and a multi-disciplinary (MDT) service within the hospital. Working in partnership with these teams allows a collaborative and holistic approach to patient care ensuring seamless care and reducing the occurrence of hospital admissions.

Our aim is to improve foot health, reduce the risk of adverse outcomes including amputation and support independent living.

We strive to improve patient care and patient experience by contributing to academic and commercial research, audit, and continuous engagement with our service users through the Friends & Family Test
