Surgeries are done 7 days a week.

Ortho-geriatric review for all inpatients above 60 years.

North Manchester inpatients are seen at NMGH by a consultant ortho-geriatrician and a specialist osteoporosis nurse.  There is no outpatient ortho-geriatric or osteoporosis service.

Fracture Clinics Mondays-Fridays.

The Service runs fracture clinics 5days a week across 2 sites (North Manchester General Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital)

Virtual Fracture Clinics (VFC).

The service reviews some injuries ‘virtually’ without face-to-face consultations. Radiographs and notes of trauma patients are reviewed virtually by a senior member of the orthopaedic team within 72 hours of presentation in NMGH ED. This ensures that patients receive timely treatment and do not come to any harm. The VFC runs Monday to Friday.
