Biography

Dr Sandle was born and educated in Leeds. He trained in general and chemical pathology in Manchester and was appointed Consultant Chemical Pathologist at Trafford General Hospital in 1986. Since that time he has developed an outpatient lipid clinic service and has also served as Clinical Audit Chair, Clinical Director, Deputy Medical Director and Interim Medical Director in Trafford. He has chaired the North West Regional Council of the Royal College of Pathologists and served as Specialty and Continuing Professional Development Advisor. Dr Sandle served on the National Quality Assurance Advisory Panel for Chemical Pathology for eight years, chairing it from 2001-2005. He was Director of Professional Standards for the Royal College of Pathologists from 2007-11 and is currently a member of its Governing Council. He also chairs the Trafford Point of Care Testing Committee and also represents Clinical Biochemistry on the Strategy Group of the Greater Manchester Pathology Network.
