  • Book a place at our Young People’s Event – Tuesday 26th June

Would you like to find out more about NHS careers and health services for young people?  Or have a go at lab experiments and other practical activities? If so, make sure you book a place at our annual Open Day for Young People.  This free event is on Tuesday 26th June and runs from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at the Nowgen Centre, near MRI.

It is aimed at young people aged 11-21, and covers information about NHS careers, health and wellbeing, plus volunteering and work experience opportunities at our Trust. Contact Liz.Oakland@mft.nhs.uk to book a place.  Individual students and school/college groups are welcome.

Resuscitation training, lab experiments and orthopaedic plastering sessions are just some of the great interactive sessions on offer to keen volunteers!  And this year we have some exciting new stands including Renal care and transplants, Cellular Pathology and an opportunity to talk to health care professionals about the care and services they provide to patients living with cancer.

Our Chairman Kathy Cowell is hosting the event and, together with our Governors, she is keen to hear what’s important to young people when planning and delivering healthcare in the future.
