We have had to change our normal visiting arrangements to help safeguard our patients and staff from COVID-19.
We keep these under constant review in light of national guidance, COVID-19 levels in our communities and other factors, including the requirements of individual patients.
The full policy is available on this page, but key points are:
Visits are now only in certain circumstances, and must be pre-authorised by ward staff – visitors cannot simply turn up.
Patients are only allowed one visitor at a time.
In line with national guidance, all visitors should have proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT) which has been done in advance. We cannot provide you with a LFT when you arrive at the hospital. You will be asked to show proof of your results. See information sheet on this page for more details.
In addition:
- You must not visit if you have any COVID-19/flu symptoms, and
- You must not visit if you have had contact with someone who has COVID-19, and
- You must not visit if you have been vomiting/had diarrhoea within the last 48 hours.
Visitors must observe all our Infection Prevention and Control measures (including using gel, social distancing and wearing a mask, plus any other requirements which apply).
Visitors who are vulnerable as a result of their medication, chronic illness or are over the age of 70 are advised not to visit if possible.
