On Tuesday 18th October 2022 and Wednesday 19th October 2022, the Greater Manchester Cancer conference took place at the Hilton, Deansgate, Manchester. The Conference featured a range of speakers discussing how we can improve the lives of people affected by cancer in Greater Manchester. The Conference was hosted over two days by Steve Bland.

Professor Phil Crosbie (MFT TLHC Research Lead and member of NHSE TLHC EAG) chaired the screening session which had a lot of positive feedback from the 400+ delegates in the audience and another 1000+ watching this session virtually. Professor Richard Booton (MFT TLHC programme director & Clinical Director of Lung Cancer) spoke about the Lung Health Checks currently taking place in Tameside and Glossop and the Lung Cancer Screening in Greater Manchester. Professor Emma Crosbie spoke about the current ACES study that is being conducted on TLHC mobile units improving cervical cancer for women 65 years of age and above. Dame Cally Palmer also referenced the innovative Manchester Lung Health Check Programme in her plenary talk at the conference.
