The Vascular Surgery unit is based around Ward 7 at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
There are 28 beds with 4 side rooms for nursing patients where infection is a high-risk, or more privacy is required. The ward has a core staff of 16 trained nurses, led by CN Martin Welsby and a Sister. There is also a dedicated vascular ward pharmacist, and a vascular physiotherapist.
In September the unit will relocate to a new twin-ward complex in Manchester Royal Infirmary, with up to 56 beds and 7 siderooms.
