Biography

Dr Bernard Leahy is a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory disease. During his specialist training, he worked as a tutor in medicine at the University of Manchester before becoming a senior registrar at the Manchester Teaching Hospitals. He was appointed as consultant in 1990, spending the first 10 years as a single-handed specialist in respiratory medicine. Dr Leahy is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London and Edinburgh and examiner for both these colleges. He is member of the British Thoracic Society and lecturer in medicine at the University of Manchester. Dr Leahy has devoted his consultant career to providing a comprehensive respiratory specialist service which is patient-focused, along with contributing to the general medicine service. He provides outpatient clinics at Trafford General, Stretford Memorial and Altrincham General Hospitals.
