Biography

Dr Venetucci completed his undergraduate training in Italy then moved to the UK, training in clinical Cardiology in Manchester and Preston. He completed his PhD at The University of Manchester and then obtained a prestigious British Heart Foundation intermediate research training Fellowship. During his fellowship he spent 12 months in Professor Priori’s Inherited Arrhythmia centre based in Pavia, Italy, where he learnt the secrets of the management of channelopathies.

Dr Venetucci is a consultant cardiologist and senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. His main clinical interests include cardiac channelopathies such as Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT), Long QT syndrome, and Brugada syndrome, alongside inherited cardiomyopathies such as hypertrophic (HCM) and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies (ARVC). His research interests complement these areas, specifically identifying novel treatment strategy for these conditions and understanding the factors that influence their penetrance.

He currently runs three Inherited Cardiac Conditions clinics per week and recently obtained a Project Grants from the British Heart to support his research activities. He has supervised several PhD students.
