Emergency Dental Service

With effect from Wednesday 25th March 2020 until further notice, the University Dental Hospital of Manchester will no longer provide the ‘drop in’ emergency dental service.  Any patients requiring emergency dental care please can you contact the Community Urgent Dental Care Service on Freephone telephone number 0333 332 3800 from 8am to 10pm every day of the year. Outside these hours, please call NHS 111 for urgent advice.

 

All routine appointments have been cancelled, Outreach services at Wythenshawe, Trafford and Peter Mount Building will cease with immediate effect.  An urgent service will be provided for existing patients who do not have currently have a General Dental Practitioner via telephone triage in the first instance and only if you meet the criteria listed below:-

 

  • Trauma including facial/oral laceration and or dental alveolar injuries that require urgent intervention (for example avulsion of a permanent tooth)
  • Oro-facial swelling that is significant or worsening
  • Severe trismus
  • Oro-dental conditions that are likely to exacerbate systemic medical conditions such as diabetes.
  • Oral medicine patients on immunosuppressive medication
