Biography

After graduating from Glasgow University, John-Paul undertook clinical training in several leading UK paediatric oncology centres. During postgraduate training, he also undertook a molecular biology PhD at the University of Nottingham analysing the biology of paediatric ependymoma. His training culminated in being awarded the prestigious International Paediatric Neuro-oncology Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. He returned from Canada in 2013 to a consultant post at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and has been the lead of the paediatric neuro-oncology service since this time.

John-Paul has been awarded a MAHSC Chair in Paediatric Oncology and is Chair of the UKCCLG Neuro-oncology Group.
