Ward 77 is a 32 bedded mixed speciality surgical ward. We specialise in Renal, Urology, Surgical Gastroenterology and Complex General Surgery.
Patients have a range of conditions and medical requirements such as:
- Bladder extrophy
- Intestinal Bowel Failure
- Post operative Renal Transplant
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Chest and abdominal surgery
- Require complex pain management
We care for a wide range of procedures pre and post op, however not all patients will be going to theatre, some may be admitted for observation, training, or support with adjustments to treatment plans. With this diversity the patients stay can be as short as 1-2 days or many months.
Ward 77 work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team with various different specialities. We are also the regional centre for nephrology and renal transplant care. Some of the skills nurses will develop throughout their time on ward 77 are surgical care, pain management, IV medications, peritoneal dialysis and many more.
