Post Registration Certificate in Oral Health Education Factsheet

This course is aimed at dental nurses who are required to provide oral health education to patients under the direction of a dentist.

The course will run over one year.

The study days will include all the theoretical instruction and practical experience needed to fulfil the NEBDN syllabus. Study days will be delivered via a blended learning approach of face to face and MS Teams, you will therefore need to have access to an electronic device with a camera and microphone.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for the course you must:

Have the support of your employer in completion of the Record of Competency and be able to commit to 100% attendance on the given course dates
Be registered with the GDC

The Award

In order to achieve the award, you will have to successfully complete:

A Record of Competence
A written examination paper (1 hour 30 minutes – multiple choice and extended matching questions)

Record of Competence

This is designed to provide a record of activities completed to facilitate specific learning experience.

Interviews

All candidates must attend for an informal interview prior to being accepted on a course. This will take place by the course facilitator and can be either face to face at the school or via MS Teams.
