If your hearing aids were issued at the Audiology (Hearing and Balance) Centre, Peter Mount Building then you can access our Drop-in repair service that is open between 10 am and 2 pm Monday to Friday. You do not need to book an appointment in advance to access this service.

Speech Processor problem
Help – my speech processor isn’t working
We can provide a postal service for repairs and we also offer booked appointment slots between 9 am- 4pm.
Please contact us for advise or to book a repair appointment if your speech processor is not working.

If you need to contact us urgently and it is outside of office hours please see the advice below.
Please note this is only in the case of accident or emergency where the implanted ear or implant site may be affected.
Adults (please choose from the following options)
- Ring the MRI switchboard on 0161 276 1234 and ask to speak to the Adult on-call ENT Registrar.
- Come directly to the A&E department at MRI
- Go to your local A&E or see your own doctor, but ask them to contact the on-call ENT Registrar at MRI for advice.
Children:(please choose from the following options)
- Ring the MRI switchboard on 0161 276 1234 and ask to speak to the Paediatric on-call ENT Registrar
- Come directly to the A&E department at Manchester Children’s Hospital and ask for the on-call ENT Registrar.
- Go to your local A&E or see your own doctor, but ask them to contact the on-call ENT Registrar at Manchester Children’s Hospital for advice.

How to Find Us
Most appointments with Central Manchester Audiology Services will be at the Peter Mount Building; however a small number of paediatric patients (children) are seen for their hearing assessments at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Please read your appointment letter carefully so that you know where your appointment will be.

Getting to Audiology at the Manchester Royal Infirmary
The main Audiology Department is located at Peter Mount Building on the Central Manchester Hospitals site. Access to Peter Mount Building is off Hathersage Road at the southern edge of the site, and the closest car park is the Hathersage Road multi-story car park. Once inside Peter Mount Building, follow signs for the Audiology (Hearing & Balance) Centre in the Blue Zone. Please check in at the Audiology reception.
Getting to Audiology at the RMCH
The Audiology rooms in the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital are located within Clinic 5 of Children’s Main Outpatients. You do not need to check in at the reception desk; please take a seat in the Clinic 5 waiting room before your appointment time, and the Audiologist will come and call your name from the waiting room.
