A spokesperson for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Trafford General Hospital, said: “Following the fire in the roof at Trafford General Hospital on the afternoon of Wednesday 28th July, we can confirm that the Minor Injuries Unit and Outpatients departments have re-opened. Anyone with an outpatient appointment should continue to attend Trafford General Hospital as planned.
“The small number of day case procedures that were postponed have been re-scheduled and patients contacted. All day case procedures are now going ahead as planned.
“We would like to pay tribute to the swift and professional response of our staff to safely evacuate 66 patients from ward and clinical areas to other parts of the Hospital. We would also like to thank Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police.”
