Anaesthetics & Pain Management

The Anaesthetic department is committed to ensuring patients undergo a comfortable healing and recovery process.

Our acute pain team provides clinical support and advice in the management of acute pain for patients during their stay in hospital.

The main activities/services of the anaesthetic department are:

  • Pre-operative assessment including dedicated out-patient clinics
  • Provision of anaesthesia for daycase and orthopaedic surgery
  • Paediatric anaesthesia for children over two years
  • In-patient pain management
  • Out-patient pain management, including out-patient consultations and day-case pain relief procedures
