Are you passionate about the NHS and would you like to be a voice for patients, their families, carers and NHS staff? If so, have you considered standing for election as a Governor of our NHS Foundation Trust?
Our Governors have a key role in representing our members and the public, and listening to their views and suggestions about the health services we provide as well as our future plans. Governors then share this information with the Board of Directors, who are responsible for running the Trust. This helps to ensure that our plans and priorities reflect the needs and wishes of our members and the wider community we serve.
All qualifying members aged 16 years or over can nominate themselves to stand for election as a Governor. You do not need specific qualifications for the role, just an interest in healthcare and a commitment to representing members to the best of your ability.
Elections are being held for three Public Governors: 1 in the Rest of Greater Manchester constituency and 2 in the Rest of England and Wales constituency.

The nomination process opened on Friday 20th July and all completed nomination forms must be received by ERS by 5pm on Monday 6th August.
In order to be eligible to stand for election as a Public Governor you must meet our Governor Criteria which includes:
- You must be a Member of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If standing to be a Public Governor, you must live in the area (public constituency) that you wish to represent.
If you are not currently a member but are interested in standing for election as a Governor, please complete an on-line Membership Application Form or alternatively you can contact the Foundation Trust Membership Office for a paper form.
