Dr Dorthe Grainger
Consultant Paediatric IntensivistMBBS, MRCPCH
Special Interests
My special interests include flight medicine and long-term ventilation. As the critical care liaison for LTV I have the vision of creating more integrated care pathway outside of critical care; increasingly empowering DGH staff to manage these children confidently, effectively and safely.
Biography
I graduated from Medical School at Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) in 1995 and started working in the NHS as a house officer. I fulfilled my dream and entered Paediatric training the following year. I completed my SHO training in Leeds and my Specialist Paediatric and Intensive Care training in the Northwest. I was appointed 2011 as Consultant Paediatric Intensivist at Central Manchester Teaching Hospital Foundation trust. Currently I work in equal parts for the Northwest/North Wales Paediatric retrieval service (NWTS) as well as on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
