Living with CF can be challenging and stressful at times. That’s why we offer a dedicated CF Psychology service. Working with a Clinical Psychologist can provide you with new strategies to manage difficult situations and improve your emotional wellbeing.

Our Clinical Psychologists are trained to understand the connections between thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and how these impact your physical health and other areas of your life. Following assessment, the CF Psychology service offers talking therapy for patients dealing with a range of psychological concerns, including:

  • Challenges related to living with CF
  • Managing symptoms and medical procedures
  • Anxiety, depression, and grief associated with CF
  • Lifestyle changes and behaviour adjustments connected to CF

We can meet with patients in the CF unit for face-to-face sessions or arrange telephone or video sessions. Sessions are typically one-on-one, and confidentiality will always be carefully explained.
