Dr Haval Balata
Lung Cancer PhysicianMBChB, MRCP-UK
I graduated from the University of Aberdeen Medical School in 2007 and did my initial postgraduate training in Scotland before moving to Manchester in 2012 to begin speciality training in Respiratory Medicine. In 2016, I took time out of training to undertake a three year postgraduate PhD degree at Wythenshawe Hospital in conjunction with the University of Manchester. As part of my research, I played an integral role in the successful Manchester Lung Health Check Pilot programme and establishing one of Europe’s first lung cancer screening services here in Manchester. My clinical and research interests lie in prevention, screening and early detection of lung cancer. I joined the team as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in September 2019.
