Biography
Medical Degree at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, including an intercalated BSc in History of Medicine at University College London. Basic surgical training in London, Bristol and South Africa.
PhD (University of Manchester) and ongoing research exploring the relationship between cancer and clotting.
Runs clinical and laboratory studies, and supervises PhD, MD and MRes students.
As co-director of Manchester Clinical Trials Unit and the North West Surgical Trials Centre, she develops surgical trials in all specialities.
Chief Investigator or Surgical Lead for several national breast cancer trials involving thousands of patients, and Chair of the Prevent Breast Cancer Scientific Advisory Board, with the ultimate aim of improving the lives of patients with breast cancer.
