Biography
Trained in Canada and qualified in 1996. Undertook speciality training in Rheumatology at The University of Toronto and moved to Manchester in 2001. She has been a consultant at MRI since 2006. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hyrich leads a large national research programme into the long term outcomes of adults and children diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis, with a particular interest in the long term safety of biologic therapies. She has published extensively on the effectiveness and safety of biologic therapies in these conditions, including the risk of infections and cancers. She also sits on the Arthritis Research UK National Steering Committee for Rheumatoid Arthritis Research.
