Biography

Dr Scott Levison was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2014. He is an expert in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), with additional clinical interest in general gastroenterology, endoscopy and endoscopy training. He qualified from the University of St Andrews and then the University of Manchester, and undertook his medical training in the Manchester region. While an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow, he was awarded a PhD focused on the molecular biology and genetics of gut inflammation. His on-going research looks at how the immune system is involved in the development and the sustainment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He is also involved in the co-ordination of clinical drug trials, to find new and better treatments for patients who suffer with IBD.
