Clinical interests are in alcoholic liver disease and the complications of advanced liver disease. Also has interests in clinical research delivery and has taken part in multiple clinical trials.

Biography:

After a first degree in biochemistry, completed a PhD in molecular biology and then qualified in medicine (University of Cambridge, 1989). Completed junior medical training in Cambridge and London, then trained as a Hepatologist in the Cambridge Transplant Unit. Worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist in a local DGH from 2002 until 2009, then was appointed to current post at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
