Biography
Dr Watkinson undertook his undergraduate degree in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He then undertook a number of hospital and general practice jobs in Newcastle, South Shields, Manchester and Wigan. During this timehe gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons membership (MFDS).
He then carried out his orthodontic specialist training in Liverpool and Chester. During this time he gained a Doctorate in Dental Science (DDSc) and gained the Gold Medal for the best performing candidate at the MOrth exam. In the same year he was also awarded the Medal for the best presented trainee cases at that years British Orthodontic Conference.
Following this he undertook the 2 year consultant training in Manchester and was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDSOrth).
In addition to being a hospital Consultant he is an associate clinical lecturer at the University of Manchester, examines for the Royal College of Surgeons and is a committee member on the Consultant Orthodontic group.
