We support patients with life-limiting conditions to control their symptoms and remain as comfortable and in control of their lives as possible.

The effects of cancer and related treatments and medication can be complex and our team is highly specialised in supporting patients in this field.

As well as providing support with physical symptoms, we offer emotional and psychological support for patients, family members and carers. We can also link you in with other support services including Welfare Rights, Community Macmillan Teams, Hospice and Day care services, and Community Macmillan Services for South Manchester including therapy services, through the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at MFT

Opening Times

The Palliative Care department is open from Monday – Sunday from 8.30am – 5pm, with an on-call service for Bank Holidays.

Location

The Hospital Team is based at MFT, Opposite X-ray, near Main Outpatients on the Ground Floor in the Yellow Zone. The Community Team is based at Withington Community Hospital on the Ground Floor.
