Podiatry

The podiatry service offers assessment and intervention for those patients with painful foot and lower limb conditions where this has reduced mobility and independence.

We provide a comprehensive range of general podiatry and specialist clinics designed to reduce foot problems and improve mobility by early intervention and management. A domiciliary home visit service is available for patients who are housebound.

The podiatry department delivers special clinics in the following areas led by specialist podiatrists and advanced practitioners working in:

  • Diabetes including assessment and management of foot ulcerations
  • Paediatrics
  • Musculoskeletal services
  • Falls services

Podiatry Core Service:

  • Core podiatry and maintenance
  • Foot health education and patent empowerment
  • Minor surgery
  • Foot care
  • MSK/Biomechanics
  • High risk management

Podiatry also delivers a service to diabetes inpatients and out patients as well as an inpatient service to patients without diabetes.

Referrals

Patients can self-refer or be referred through their GP or Health Care Practitioners via referral forms available at all Health Centres and GP practices, Choose and Book, letter or fax to Northenden Health Centre, 489 Palatine Road, Northenden, Manchester, M22 4DH or fax: 0161 215 2039.
