Congratulations to Manchester Royal Infirmary’s Emergency Department Team, named ‘Hospital Student Placement of the Year’ at this year’s national Student Nursing Times Awards.
The department sees over 100,000 patients every year and was lauded for providing a supportive structured learning environment, giving students the opportunity to work across multi-disciplinary teams and areas, including Triage, Resus, and Major Trauma. Their focus on student wellbeing was recognised, as well as delivering individual mentoring teams for each student, with over 70 qualified mentors in the department and a successful international exchange programme.
A record-breaking number of award entries were received for this year’s awards and the winners were announced during a ceremony held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday 26th April.
Jenni Middleton, Nursing Times editor and host of the Student Nursing Times Awards commented: “The Student Nursing Times Awards are a fantastic celebration of student nurses and the universities and placement providers that educate and train them.
“We are delighted to be handing out these trophies to the very best students, and the organisations that are supporting them and helping them to become nurses.”
