August 2020 sees the launch of our new MFT Experience & Involvement Strategy: Our Commitment to Patients, Families and Carers 2020-2023.
As part of the MFT What Matters to Me Programme, which is our Trust approach to patient experience, we are committed to providing the best possible patient and carer experience alongside the highest levels of involvement.
We believe that patients, families and carers need to be involved, not only in their care, but also in the direction of the Trust in order to move towards true Partnership and Shared Leadership; which can help to reduce health inequalities and achieve better outcomes for our patients.
The new Strategy was co-produced with service users including patients, families, cares and staff during 2019 and outlines the Trust’s Commitments to continuously improving patient experience, particularly through increasing the involvement of patients, families and carers in the design and delivery of services.
Our Commitments are:
- to empowering patients and carers to take control of their journey by involving them in every aspect of their care as well as the direction of our organisation
- to communicating with each other in an accessible, friendly and respectful manner
- to creating an inclusive and welcoming community for patients, carers and staff
- to listening to, acting on and learning from feedback from all service users and staff
The MFT Experience and Involvement Strategy document outlines how we plan to deliver our Commitments with the help of our staff and our community.
