Consultant Surgeon

MB ChB MD FRCS(Eng)

Biography

I completed my primary degree (MB ChB) and initial medical training in Leeds and the Yorkshire Region. I then moved home to the North West of England to complete my higher surgical training, during which time I was awarded a prestigious research fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, England, enabling me to complete a research doctorate (M.D.) at the University of Manchester in 2012. I have presented my research findings on early breast cancer (DCIS) internationally and have had my work published within peer reviewed journals. For my final year of surgical training, I completed a highly sort after TIG Oncoplastic fellowship at the Nightingale Breast Unit in Manchester, further developing my surgical skills in oncoplastic, reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery.

I was appointed as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and Chest Contouring Surgeon at North Manchester General Hospital in 2016 and have been Breast Cancer MDT Lead since 2019 and Clinical Director for Breast Surgery since 2021. My practice is centred on providing well-informed, patient-centred care. I specialise in the surgical management of breast cancer including volume replacement and displacement techniques as well as breast cancer reconstruction. I also have the skills needed to provide chest contouring surgery for Gender Affirmation.

I am a transformational Clinical Leader, a keen innovator and am passionate about patient centred care pathways that improve overall patient experience and outcomes.
