  • Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (the Act) gives you the right to access any recorded information which is held by a public authority.

This Trust has two obligations under the Act:

  • Produce and maintain a publication scheme, setting out what information will be made routinely available, where it can be found and whether a charge will be made for it.
  • Respond to individual requests for information which are not included in the publication scheme.

Publication Scheme

A model publication scheme has been developed by the Information Commissioner’s Office – the authority which oversees the Freedom of Information Act. we have adopted the Information Commissioner’s Office model scheme.

We have user friendly guides to the information which is in our scheme for both South Manchester and Central Manchester. These guides lists the categories of information we routinely publish and allows you access to any document which is listed.

Any documents which are listed in our scheme but are not included in our website content will be provided within five days of your request to the relevant department. Full details appear in our guide to information.

Some elements of our scheme are ‘under review and are being updated’. If this is stated for any document which you are looking for, please contact us at the details given below and we will provide you with as much information as possible.

If there is any charge to be made for the information, this will be stated in our guide.  If you can not find what you are looking for in our publication scheme, you may find the search engine (on the top left of every page) helpful.

If you still can’t find the information you need, you can make a request for information.

Charges

There will be no charge for the response to your Freedom of Information request, unless we estimate that it would take us 18 hours or more to do the following:

  • Determine whether the information is held
  • Locate the information
  • Retrieve the information
  • Extract the information from any documents containing it

Any responses which we estimate would take this amount of time will either be refused or a charge will be made in line with the Freedom of Information Act before the response is provided.  We will let you know as soon as possible if this is the case.
