Who is the service for?
This service is for patients directly referred in by their GP for any breast related condition.
What does the service provide?
The service offers a wide range of high quality services for patients relating to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of suspected breast conditions. Our new patient clinics, in most instances, are delivered by a one-stop method where assessment and diagnosis are provided within the same clinic.
The service also provides follow-up services for patients with a variety of breast problems (including cancer and non-cancer related problems), family history assessments, gender reassignment, breast reconstruction.
Specialist nurse led support (face to face/telephone), arm lymphodema and breast prosthetic services, for patients with related problems, are also available.
Who will patients meet?
There is a comprehensive well established clinical breast team which includes: consultant surgeons, consultant oncologists, specialty doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, Macmillan clinical nurse specialists, clinic nurses, prosthetic advisor, health care assistants and research nurses.
The service is supported by a specialist breast imaging team comprising: radiologists, consultant radiographer and breast advanced practice/specialist radiographers.
When is the service available?
There are a variety of breast surgery clinics on two sites every Monday to Friday.

Practical information
As we endeavour to provide our new patient services in a one stop clinic. This could take a significant length of time.
Please be prepared to be in the clinic for a minimum of 2-3 hours (sometime much longer). It is advisable, where necessary, to make alternative childcare or work arrangements for your clinic visit. You may wish to bring a relative or friend with you for support.
Please bring a complete list of all medications you are currently taking and any information relating to previous breast related problems.
