Nutrition and Dietetics (NMGH)

Who is the service for?

This team provides face to face consultations for infants and children aged 0 to 16 years.

Referrals are accepted from Consultants, ward nursing staff and Speech and Language Therapists.

The team will see children with diabetes, tube feeds, allergies, faltering weight, nutritional deficiencies or other conditions requiring a special diet.

What does the service provide?

The Nutrition and Dietetic service aims to:

  • Assess current dietary intake
  • Provide individual advice and adapt current diets to meet dietary requirements, taking into account therapeutic needs
  • Educate and support children and their parents/carers on the management of their therapeutic diet

Who will patients meet?

Ana Nikiforovski- provides a service to NMGH neonatal unit and children’s ward as well as outpatient clinics. Also provides a service to the family clinic

Debra Davidson- provides a service to children with diabetes at NMGH and general outpatients at NMGH.

When is the service available?

The Nutrition Support Team works 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday – Friday.

Where is the service provided?

The service is provided for inpatients on:

Neonatal Units at NMGH

Children’s wards at NMGH

Outpatients clinics at:

NMGH Children’s Outpatients, Block I, level 2
