These women are at increased risk of pre-eclampsia, worsening kidney disease, fetal growth restriction and premature delivery, but with specialist care and monitoring these conditions can be better controlled; complications can be potentially reduced and monitored leading to better outcomes.
This service links with other services at Saint Mary’s Hospital such as MAVIS, the Joint Obstetric Haematology Clinic and the Joint Rheumatology Obstetric Service enabling better care of women with complex disease. The Renal Medicine service and Renal Transplant service are co-located in Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Clinics
This clinic runs every Thursday afternoon in the Antenatal Clinic, Ground Floor, Saint Mary’s Hospital.
How can I access this service?
Women can be referred by their GP, Obstetrician at their local hospital or by their Renal Physician.
