Members invited to stand in our Council of Governors election

Are you passionate about the NHS and would you like to be a voice for patients, their families, carers and NHS staff? If so, have you considered standing for election as a Governor of our NHS Foundation Trust?

Our Governors have a key role in representing our members and the public, and listening to their views and suggestions about the health services we provide as well as our future plans. Governors then share this information with the Board of Directors, who are responsible for running the Trust. This helps to ensure that our plans and priorities reflect the needs and wishes of our members and the wider community we serve.

All qualifying staff and public members aged 16 years or over can nominate themselves to stand for election as a Governor. You do not need specific qualifications for the role, just an interest in healthcare and a commitment to representing members to the best of your ability.

“We truly appreciate your interest in and support for our Trust, and do hope that you will consider standing for election as a Governor,” said Group Chairman Kathy Cowell. “We look forward to working with our Governors and members in the future to develop our hospitals and provide world-class services for adults and children.”

If you would like to nominate yourself as a candidate for election as a Staff or Public Governor, please contact Returning Officer Ciara Norris at Electoral Reform Services (ERS) for a nomination form:

The nomination process opened on Tuesday 3rd October and all completed nomination forms must be received by ERS by noon on Wednesday 18th October.
