FAQ

You can register to join if you are employed by MFT, are a student on placement at MFT or are employed by the University of Manchester and based at MFT.

Visit any of the libraries, present your ID badge as proof of eligibility and complete the registration form.

Alternatively, if you are eligible to join, register now using our online registration form.

Once registered, you will receive a welcome email containing your username and PIN to access your own account.  We will also set you up to use the book issuing self-service facility. You can use this facility at Oxford Road during opening hours and at Wythenshawe 24/7.

Monday 8.30am – 7.00pm

Wythenshawe Hospital Library.  If you have a MFT Wythenshawe ID badge, you can swipe into the library 24/7 365.
Staffed hours are:
Monday – Thursday  8.30am – 5.00pm

North Manchester General Hospital Library.
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

Trafford General Hospital Library.
Monday – Thursday  8.00am – 4.00pm

You can borrow up to a total of 10 books. The loan period is 4 weeks.

You can have up to 3 renewals, provided another user has not requested the item(s).

You can renew yours loans via the library catalogue.  You will need your reader code and PIN.  Please contact us if need a reminder of either of these.

How to renew your loans guide.

You can renew up to a maximum of 3 times after which time you will have to bring the item(s) to the library. The item(s) can then be re-issued to you provided they have not been reserved by another library user.

To log in to your account you will need your reader code and PIN. Please contact us if you need a reminder of your username or PIN.

Accessing your personal library account will enable you to view and renew the items you have on loan, place reservations and update your personal details.

All print and electronic books and journals can be found by searching the  library catalogue, available from the library website.  Any item at a different site can be transferred to your own site.

You can reserve items by logging into your library account using your reader code and PIN and then click on the reserve button.  We will send you a text message when the book is available and ready to collect.

Please contact us if you need a reminder of your reader code or PIN.

If you require a journal article or a book that we do not have in our collection, we can request it for you from another library.
