As a major teaching hospital, training and supporting the future NHS workforce is a key priority. The Postgraduate Medical Education Departments provide education and placements for training grade doctors, supporting them to gain practical experience as part of their medical training.
Postgraduate Medical Education Department – Oxford Road Campus
Our Education Centres at the Oxford Road Campus and Trafford are purpose-built venues recognised for their innovative approaches to education and training. We ensure that the duties, working hours and supervision of trainees are consistent with the delivery of high quality, safe patient care. We deliver the requirements set out in the approved curriculum, approved by the General Medical Council (GMC). We support our trainers to provide effective support, supervision and mentorship for doctors in training.
